Referrals

As a regional Lead Trauma Hospital (LTH) the Trauma Program provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on-call Trauma Team Leader (TTL) services for both adult (18 years of age and older) and paediatric (17 years of age and younger) patients. The TTL is a physician who serves as the "captain" of the resuscitation team in the emergency department and coordinates all aspects of treatment during the so-called "golden hour" ensuring that each phase of the patient's care flows in continuity.

Physicians wishing to refer a severely injured adult or child to the TTL should do so through the CritiCall provincial patient referral service by calling:

1-800-668-HELP (1-800-668-4357)

Ask to be connected to the on-call adult or paediatric Trauma Team Leader (TTL).
