LHSC President & CEO Bonnie Adamson receives national Distinguished Service Award
LONDON, Ontario – London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) President and Chief Executive Officer Bonnie Adamson has been awarded the Canadian College of Health Leaders College Award for Distinguished Service.
The College Award recognizes distinguished service in health care management. Ms. Adamson was selected by a committee of colleagues and peers from across Canada, and presented with the award at the 2011 National Awards Gala on June 5 at the National Healthcare Leadership Conference in Whistler, British Columbia.
"On behalf of LHSC’s staff, physicians, volunteers and the board of directors, I congratulate Bonnie Adamson on receiving this prestigious award,” said Peter Johnson, LHSC Board Chair. “Bonnie’s breadth of knowledge and experience in health care management and her contributions to and support of safe and quality patient care, teaching and research are demonstrated each day on behalf of LHSC.”
Ms. Adamson is a Fellow at the Canadian College of Health Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is the Past Chair of the National Board of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and she has held positions on other Boards, such as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Studies (ICES), the Fanshawe College Health Sciences Advisory Board, and the Canadian Health Information Association Board.
Prior to joining LHSC in 2010, Ms. Adamson had been the president and CEO of North York General Hospital (8 years) and president and CEO of the Huron Perth Hospitals Partnership (4 years). She also previously worked at London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital for twenty years.
