Celebrating Nursing: For the Health of Our Community

 

London, ON – The week of May 9 - 13 marks International Nursing Week, an opportunity to celebrate nurses around the world for their provision of outstanding patient-centered care and dedication to advancing the health system. This year’s theme Nursing: For the Health of Our Community!  reflects the immense value of Canada’s largest group of health-care providers.

 

Nurses at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care, London are celebrating nursing week with a gala where over 400 nurses will gather together to honour nursing practice in London.

 

Media are invited to attend the Nursing Week Gala, planned by staff members from St. Joseph’s, London Health Sciences Centre, Western’s Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, Fanshawe College School of Nursing and the Middlesex-London Health Unit. The exciting evening includes:

David McNeil, President of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario

 

8:00 p.m.        

‘Live well, laugh lots’ with keynote speaker and humourist Susan Stewart;

 

9:15 p.m.        

RNAO Nursing Excellence Awards and the inaugural Fayez Spa awards for Excellence in Nursing Practice and Peer Recognition
