Reminder of Community Forum regarding South Street Hospital demolition

LONDON, Ontario – As announced in December, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) has awarded a contract to ProGreen Demolition Ltd. who will complete the decommissioning of the former South Street Hospital buildings. Letters have been sent to SOHO residents, advising them that fences will begin to be erected around South Street Hospital and adjacent buildings the week of January 6. Decommissioning and demolition is expected to begin shortly thereafter and will take approximately one year to complete.

SOHO residents and media are invited to learn more about the impact of the decommissioning and the future of the lands at an open house on Wednesday, January 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Holdsworth Auditorium (373 Hill St.). Representatives from LHSC, the City of London, ProGreen Demolition, and AECOM (who are overseeing the decommissioning project), will be available to share information and answer questions.

Note: Media interviews will not be facilitated prior to this open house.
