G.Y.N.; "GYNE"; GYNECOLOGY

"O.B." refers to "Obstetrics and Gynecology. Obstetricians specialize in the care and delivery of the babies of pregnant women. Gynecologists specialize in the reproductive system of women. The gynecology service is sometimes called "G.Y.N." or Gyne (pronounced guy-nee) as a short form.
