Ontario Cervical Screening Program

Cervical screening can help find changes that could lead to cervical cancer before you have symptoms. Most eligible people ages 25 to 69 should have cervical screening every 5 years.

You may be eligible for cervical screening if you are at least 25 years old, have a cervix, have ever had sexual contact, do not have symptoms and are due for screening.

Ontario's cervical screening test uses HPV testing which has replaced the PAP test in most cases. The test looks for types of HPV that can cause cervical cancer.

Talk with your family doctor, nurse practitioner or midwife about getting screened. If you do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, call Health811 to find out about available screening options in your community.
